Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing well:)

Today I'm going to do a book review on Skin Beauty, "Discover the real you...A Natural Healthy Look" by Dawn Kinghorn.

The author contacted me awhile ago on google plus and asked me to do a review on her book.  So I purchased the book online for $1.99 through amazon.com.  Check out the cover of the book below:

Skin Beauty: Discover the real you, a natural healthy look, is an enlighten book that teaches women how to achieve naturally healthy skin without breaking the bank.  Kinghorn does this by first telling readers her, three commandments of skincare which are clean, moisturize and protect.  Then she takes it a step further by giving great cost effective advise like getting enough sleep, laughing more, exercising, having good posture and grooming.  Not only does these things help with having beautiful skin naturally it will promote a positive attitude.

If you are interested and improving your skincare regimen.  I highly recommend purchasing this book it would be a good investment.

Skin Beauty: Discover the real you, a natural healthy look, can by purchased online at:

TWA Update

What's up!!!

What's up everyone!!!

I hope everyone is doing well today:))

I'm great and I'm loving my TWA, which is such a surprise for me.  Back in the day I hated short hair.  My first two big chops were the worst stages for me during my natural hair journey.  But now I'm enjoying this stage so much that I'm thinking about leaving it short.  I find it much easier to maintain now.  I can do a wash n go with no problem, it takes me less time to do my hair, and I don't have to worry about detangling.

I must admit though I feel like I'm learning how to do my hair all over again.  It's been awhile since I wore my hair loose and a lot of new methods have surfaced.  Even though I have been natural for a total of seven years I'm still learning.  So far the best method for me is the LCO method (Liquid, Cream/Conditioner, Oil).

My favorites products so far are:

  • V05 Moisturizing Conditioner
  • V05 Clarifying Conditioner
  • Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner
  • Shea Moisture Dry Oil Mist
  • TRESemme Naturals
  • Castor Oil
  • Bentonite Clay
  • Aloe Vera Juice
  • Olive Oil
  • Rosemary Essential Oil
  • Ylang Ylang Oil
  • Lavender Oil

Checkout how I'm rocking hair now:

I honestly believe it's not how you wear your hair, what clothes you wear or how beat your face is that makes a women beautiful.  It's about how she feels about herself on the inside.  Sometimes it's hard for woman to do that when the media, social media, people and family members are our biggest critics.  The best advice I can give is to ignore the drama and keep your head up.  Your confidence will shine through and show your beauty from within.

On that note, that is all I have for today.  Thank you everyone for reading my blog and your continued support.  Stay happy, natural and healthy.

I hope all is well with everyone.  I just wanted to pop in real quick and give you guys a quick update with what's going on with me.  First and for most I'm still blogging, I just haven't been able to do it in a while.  Life for me lately has been a big roller coaster ride but I'm thankful God has given me a life to experience.

Next, I decided to do the BIG CHOP because I was tired of battling with the lint in my locs.  There were also other reasons which I explain in the videos below.  I enclosed two videos, one with me doing the BIG CHOP and one that shows how my hair looks now:))

Now check out my TWA:))))

Thanks everyone for reading my blog and watching my videos:)))

My Love For My Grandmother

The saddest day of my life was on 7/27/2013 when my youngest sister called me to let me know that my grandmother past away.  A lot of things ran through my mind.  First was the last time I spoke to her which was a refreshing conversation for me because I'm 5,000 miles away and it was great just to hear her voice.  I was missing her and she was missing me, the kids and my husband.

NOW I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO TALK TO HER AGAIN:(

First let me start off by saying my grandmother was the greatest person I ever known.  Any and everybody that ever came into contact with her instantly fell in love with her.  Even though I'm her granddaughter through married she treated me no different than any of her other children.  I remember the first time I met her technically.  She said to me "Ah shocks, I remember when you use to come in here and dig in my garbage."  I was a sassy 10 year old little girl at the time and was like what me?  She said, "Yes you use to come in here and go straight for the garbage all the time." We all started laughing. You see that’s how she was.  She always made people feel comfortable in her home and around her through laughter.  That's when she explained to me that she knew me since I was 9 months. At that time my mother had an apartment on the 2nd floor in the same building.  Our relation grew and flourished from that point on.  She taught me how to crochet, cook and tried to teach me when to keep my sassy mouth shut.  I've learned so much from her and I really appreciate having her in my life.

Thank you God for allowing my grandma to live a full life and for putting her in my life at the right time.

That's all I have you today.  Thank you everyone for reading my blog.  Stay happy, natural and healthy.
